Ditch your stress and anxiety
Find joy and wellness
Laurel York, MC, Registered Provisional Psychologist
Feeling stuck? Nothing changes until something changes.
I help people who struggle with stress, anxiety, and burnout to stop living in survival mode and regain a sense of wellness and control in their lives.
My clients have the same struggles that you do. But despite being hardworking, capable, and high achieving - life can be messy.
When my clients first come to therapy, they’re often feeling overwhelmed, burned out, and like their nervous systems are overloaded by stress. They feel like they are just struggling to get through the day, and like there’s never enough time or energy to really take care of themselves or to spend on their friends, family, and hobbies. They know they are stuck in a cycle of just getting through the day, rather than having the energy to spend on meaningful things outside of work. If they could just get a handle on the day-to-day stress, maybe things wouldn’t feel so hard.
The feeling of not being able to handle life’s challenges impacts so many areas of life. They may have just enough energy to make it through the work day, but feel completely spent afterward. They want to be able to do more than collapse on the couch at the end of the day, too tired to do anything but scroll their phone or zone out to Netflix.
When they first come in, my clients’ stress and anxiety levels are high. Whether it’s because of physical exhaustion or extreme mental stress, clients are feeling like they have nothing left to give. They know their bodies and minds are exhausted, and they are looking for ways to make things better. Something has got to give, and they know it needs to not be themselves that gives out.
They know that change is within their reach, but they don’t know where to start. They’re motivated, but they need support from someone who can make sense of their experiences with a clear way forward.
I get it. The experiences that my clients are have are things I have lived through, too. And I have solutions for getting out of the cycle of chronic stress and burnout. Feeling a sense of peace and wellness isn’t out of reach - they just need to learn the right tools to get there.
Just like my clients, you deserve support to manage your stress and anxiety.
You deserve to have your needs met and to feel a sense of ease and peace in your body.
You deserve to live each day in a way that honours your physical and mental needs without having to put yourself last.
Wellness isn’t something you have to earn - it’s something you can learn to practice, daily.
If you want to feel less stressed and more at peace in your life, I would love to help you learn how.
Schedule an appointment today. You don’t have to do this alone - I can help.

“Insight can seem like the most valuable outcome of therapy, when really transformation is occurring through the process of allowing ourselves to be cared for. When parts of us do not have to go away for us to be loved, it rewires our brains.” ~Dr. Hillary McBride
